Requirements

This program is open to seniors graduating from public or private high schools in Oakland, California; children of employees of the Port of Oakland may be attending any high school.

Applicants must be interested in working full time on a bachelor's degree at an accredited 4year college or university in any state.

They must have an overall GPA of 3.0 or higher.

Students of all ethnic and cultural backgrounds are eligible, but the goal of the sponsor is to promote mutual understanding and goodwill by organizing Asian cultural programs.

Selection is based on the potential for academic achievement and potential for impact on the community (both immediate and longterm).
