The Angus/Talon Youth Educational Learning Undergraduate Scholarship provides financial assistance for college students, especially those majoring in fields related to beef cattle production, who have been members of the National Junior Angus Association (NJAA).

Requirements
  • Applicants must have been a member of the NJAA in the past and presently must be a junior, regular, or life member of the American Angus Association.
  • They must be either a high school senior or already enrolled in college working full time on an undergraduate degree with a GPA of 2.0 or higher and younger than 25 years of age.
  • Preference is given to students majoring in animal science or range management with an emphasis on beef cattle production.
  • Preveterinary medicine applicants indicating plans to become large-animal, specifically bovine, practitioners also receive strong preference.
  • Selection is based on those essays; academic achievement Angus competitive activities and involvement; Angus leadership activities FFA, 4H, and other agricultural organization involvement; other high school or collegiate organization, community, civic, and church activities; an essay on their leadership potential, career goals, and ambitions for the future, especially how they will promote, advocate, and support the Angus breed and beef cattle industry in their plans; and general effect of the application.
