Balcones Section SPE Scholarship provides financial assistance to residents of the area of southwestern Texas served by the Balcones Section of the Society of Petroleum Engineers (SPE) who are interested in attending college in any state to prepare for a career in the petroleum industry.

This program is open to residents of 1 of the 21 Texas counties that comprise the Balcones Section who are enrolled or planning to enroll full-time at an accredited college or university in any state.

Applicants must be interested in preparing for a career in the petroleum industry.

They must have a GPA of 2.5 or higher.
