BIA Pathways Scholarship provides financial assistance and work experience at the U.S. Bureau of Indian Affairs (BIA) to Native American students interested in preparing for a career related to natural resources.

Requirements

This program is open to Alaska Natives and American Indians enrolled in a federally-recognized tribe.

Applicants must be enrolled full or halftime in an undergraduate or graduate degree or certificate program at a qualifying educational institution in any state.

They must be preparing for a career in natural resources; eligible majors include (but are not limited to) agriculture, biological sciences, engineering, forestry, physical science, rangeland, and wildland fire.

Internships are available at BIA sites throughout the Indian country.

Some positions also require a medical examination, drug testing, a valid driver's license, and specific educational certification or degree requirements.
