Colonel Hazel Benn, USMC, Scholarship provides financial assistance for college to children of members of the Fleet Reserve Association (FRA) serving in the Navy as an enlisted medical rating assigned to the United States Marine Corps (USMC).

Requirements

This program is open to the dependent children of members of the association or persons who were members at the time of death.

Applicants must be entering their freshman or sophomore year of college as a fulltime student.

Their parent must be serving or have served in the U.S. Navy as an enlisted medical rating assigned to the USMC. Along with their application, they must submit transcripts that include SAT and/or ACT scores, an essay of any length about their sponsor's military career, a list of school and community activities, and at least 2 letters of recommendation.

Selection is based on academic record, financial need, extracurricular activities, leadership skills, and participation in community activities.

U.S. citizenship is required.
