Doug Ingalls Scholarship Contest recognizes and rewards high school seniors in Massachusetts who demonstrate outstanding talent in an acting audition and plan to major in any field at a college or university in any state.

Requirements

This program is open to seniors at high schools that are members of the Massachusetts Educational Theater Guild.

Applicants must register to perform in an acting audition held in conjunction with the annual guild festival.

They must perform 2 contrasting pieces with a total performance time that may not exceed 4 minutes.

Selection is based on character development, physicality, vocal work, overall effect, and overall presentation; each category is worth 20 points (10 points per monologue).

Recipients must enroll as fulltime students at an institution of higher learning in any state in the fall following the audition. They may major in any field. There is a $15 application fee.
