Etta Baker Memorial Scholarship provides financial assistance to high school seniors and current undergraduates who have ties to members of the Maryland Military and Civilian Spouses Club (MMCSC) and are interested in attending college in any state.

Requirements

This program is open to graduating high school seniors and currently-enrolled college students who have a military-dependent identification card.

Applicants must also meet at least 1 of the following requirements: 1) have a family member who is an activeduty or retired service member assigned to, attached to, or working in Maryland; 2) is a member or has a parent who is a member of the MMCSC; or 3) has another affiliation with Maryland's military community.

They must be enrolled or planning to enroll fulltime at a college or university in any state and have a GPA of 3.0 or higher.

Selection is based on that essay, academic achievement (measured by GPA and ACT/SAT scores), and school and community involvement; financial need is not considered.

If the recipient is awarded a full scholarship from another source, the Baker Memorial Scholarship must be returned and will be awarded to an alternate.
