Evelyn L. Cockrell Memorial Scholarship provides financial assistance to members of the American Health Information Management Association (AHIMA) from Texas who are working on certification as a Registered Health Information Administrator (RHIA) or Registered Health Information Technician (RHIT).

Requirements

This program is open to active and student AHIMA members who have been Texas residents for at least 1 year.

Applicants must be enrolled or planning to enroll in an accredited Texas educational program that leads to RHIA or RHIT certification.

They must be U.S. citizens or permanent residents.

Selection is based on an essay of 350 to 400 words about their personal goals (50 points) and financial need (50 points).
