The Carl & Marilynn Thoma Foundation offers an Exploratory Travel Award for students in their first year of a Ph.D. program in art history, history, architectural history, religion, or a related field. The travel grant supports those planning travels to Latin America to visit archives, museums, and art collections. Students who are interested in the study of the Art of the Spanish Americas are encouraged to apply. Projects specific to the history of painting and sculpture in viceregal South America receive special consideration.
