Requirements
  • This program is open to students who are graduating or have graduated from high schools in Mendocino County, California.
  • Applicants must be planning to enroll at the Explorer Academy, training as an emergency medical technician (EMT) or paramedic, a fire academy, or a 4year college or university to work on a bachelor's degree in fire science.
  • Priority is given to students who intend to prepare for a career as a paid or volunteer EMT, paramedic, or fire fighter; have financial need; and can demonstrate a history of community service.
  • A GPA of 3.0 or higher is preferred.
