Requirements

This program is open to students who are graduating or have graduated from high schools in Mendocino County, California.

Applicants must be planning to enroll at the Explorer Academy, training as an emergency medical technician (EMT) or paramedic, a fire academy, or a 4year college or university to work on a bachelor's degree in fire science.

Priority is given to students who intend to prepare for a career as a paid or volunteer EMT, paramedic, or fire fighter; have financial need; and can demonstrate a history of community service.

A GPA of 3.0 or higher is preferred.
