June Curran Porcaro Scholarship provides financial assistance to members of the Sault Tribe of Chippewa Indians who have been homeless, displaced, or in the foster care system and are interested in attending college or graduate school in any state to work on a degree in human services.

Requirements
  • This program is open to members of the Sault Tribe who have been homeless, displaced, or in the foster care system.
  • Applicants must be working on an undergraduate or graduate degree in human services at a college or university in any state to prepare for a career of helping people who are homeless, displaced, or involved in the foster care system.
  • They must be able to demonstrate financial need.
  • Recipients must agree to provide at least 40 hours of volunteer service at an accredited homeless shelter during the school year for which they receive the award.
