Kent McDaniel Memorial Scholarship provides financial assistance to high school seniors who are members of Missouri DECA, have been involved in marketing and cooperative education, and plan to study those fields in college.

Requirements

This program is open to high school seniors who are members of Missouri DECA and have been enrolled in marketing education or cooperative career education program.

Applicants must be interested in attending an accredited 2 or 4-year postsecondary institution in any state to continue their study of business administration, entrepreneurship, finance, management, marketing, or a related field.

Their adviser must submit a letter of recommendation that describes how the student has been impacted by membership in DECA. Students must submit an essay on how involvement in DECA and marketing and cooperative education has made a difference in their life; another essay on their career plans and goals for the future; a list of honors, awards, and leadership positions through involvement in DECA and other schools, work, and community organizations; a list of volunteer service activities; transcripts; 3 letters of recommendation; and ACT or SAT scores.
