Lupus Inspiration Foundation for Excellence Scholarship provides financial assistance to undergraduate and graduate students who have systemic lupus erythematosus (SLE).

Requirements

This program is open to students who have been diagnosed with SLE and are entering or enrolled full or part time at an accredited college or university to work on an undergraduate or graduate degree.

Applicants must submit a letter from a physician verifying a diagnosis of SLE, a transcript, a letter of recommendation, and an essay, up to 500 words in length, on how lupus has affected their life.

They must have a GPA of 3.0 or higher and a record of involvement in at least 1 extracurricular activity (e.g., performance group, athletics, clubs, organizations, community service, employment).

Selection is based on the essay (60%) and the letter of recommendation (40%).

Financial need is not considered.
