Military Order of the Stars and Bars Scholarship provides financial assistance to high school seniors and currently-enrolled college and graduate students who are the descendants of Confederate officers or public servants.

Requirements

This program is open to graduating high school seniors and currently-enrolled undergraduate and graduate students who are the genealogically proven descendants of 1) a Confederate officer; 2) a member of the Confederate executive or legislative branches of government; or 3) a member of the Confederate legislative, judiciary, or executive branches of state government.

Applicants must submit a personal letter of application (describing academic and career aspirations), genealogical proof of Confederate ancestor, a completed and signed application form, and 3 letters of recommendation.

Selection is based on academic performance (70%), extracurricular activities (10%), personal statement (10%), and letters of recommendation (10%).
