NELA Scholarship provides financial assistance to members of the Northeastern Loggers' Association (NELA) and their families who are interested in attending college in any state.

Requirements

This program is open to 1) graduating high school seniors; 2) students in 2-year associate degree or technical school programs; and 3) students in 4-year baccalaureate programs.

Applicants must be members or the immediate family of members of the association or immediate family of employees of industrial and associate members of the association.

Selection is based primarily on a 1,000word essay, a captioned photo-essay, a 7-minute audio essay, or a 7-minute video essay.

The topic changes annually; recently, students were asked to write on "Why the Forest Products Industry is Important to Us All." Financial need is not considered.
