Refugio Rodriguez and Pete Alleman Scholarship provide financial assistance for college in any state to current and former National Guard soldiers and airmen who are members of the Enlisted Association New Mexico National Guard and to their dependents.

Requirements

This program is open to active and retired New Mexico National Guard soldiers and airmen who are current members of the association, their spouses and dependent unmarried children, and the unmarried spouses and unmarried dependent children of deceased members who were in good standing at the time of their death.

Applicants must be enrolled or planning to enroll as full or part-time students at a college, university, trade school, or business school in any state.

They must have at least a "C" average.

Selection is based on transcripts, 3 letters of recommendation, and a letter on their desire to continue education and their need for assistance.

Preference is given to average, rather than gifted or exceptional, students.
