Requirements

This program is open to women who are U.S. citizens and 1) a Delaware resident and a senior at a high school in New Castle County; or 2) a resident of New Castle County, Delaware, and a home-schooled student who can meet the admission requirements of the University of Delaware.

Applicants must be attending or planning to attend a college or university.

High school seniors must also submit an essay of 200 to 300 words on AAUW's aims to empower women to pursue higher education and identify a woman who serves as a role model for them in the pursuit of education. Explain why they chose this woman.

Selection is based on scholastic standing, contributions to school and community, SAT or ACT scores, and financial need.
