Requirements

This program is open to full-time undergraduate and graduate students working on a degree at U.S. institutions in any of the following fields: aeronautical and astronautical engineering; biosciences; biomedical engineering; chemical engineering; chemistry; civil engineering; cognitive, neural, and behavioral sciences; computer and computational sciences and computer engineering; electrical engineering; environmental sciences; geosciences, including terrain, water, and air; industrial and systems engineering (technical tracks only); information sciences; materials science and engineering; mathematics; mechanical engineering; naval architecture and ocean engineering; nuclear engineering, oceanography; operations research (technical tracks only); or physics.

Applicants must be citizens of the United States, Australia, Canada, New Zealand, or the United Kingdom who have a GPA of 3.0 or higher.

They must be available to work as interns at DoD laboratories during the summer months.

Selection is based on academic records, personal statements, letters of recommendation, and ACT/SAT or GRE scores.
