Requirements

This program is open to Tennessee residents who are high school seniors, high school graduates, or GED recipients.

Applicants must be interested in attending a trade school or certificate program.

Selection is based on 3 criteria (with each counting onethird of a final score): 1) academic achievement (GPA of 3.0 or higher, ACT score of 20 or above or equivalent SAT score, proficiency in subjects essential to their trade curriculum, honors, work history, internships, volunteer service), 2) a 400-word essay on why they have chosen the stipulated trade and their plans for the future; and 3) financial need.

U.S. citizenship is required.
