The Kilby Family Endowed Scholarship is available to descendants of persons enslaved in Culpeper, Madison, or Rappahannock counties in Virginia prior to the end of the Civil War in 1865. Students meeting these criteria and planning to pursue an associate, bachelor's, or technical professional degree are encouraged to apply. Descendants of persons enslaved by John Kilby of Culpeper County, Virginia, and his lineal descendant receive special consideration.
