Requirements
  • This program is open to openly LGBTQIA+ students who are currently enrolled or planning to enroll in a vocational school in Santa Barbara County, California.
  • Applicants may be high school seniors entering postsecondary education for the first time; continuing trade school students; or reentering the workforce or advancing their professional goals.
  • They must submit a 750word essay that covers their contribution and involvement in the LGBTQIA+ community or their contributions as a LGBTQIA+ person in the workplace; their plans for continued involvement during the school term, particularly with reference to Santa Barbara County; and their thoughts and plans for future involvement and activism relative to their education and/or career.
  • Selection is based on the essay, academic achievement, extracurricular and community involvement, and financial need.
  • Previous applicants may apply and receive scholarships for up to four academic years.
