The Thomas R. Shaw Scholarship is available to graduating high school seniors from Battle Creek area public schools or Bellevue High School in Bellevue, Michigan, or current students at the University of Michigan, Central Michigan University, or Wayne State University. Students who demonstrate financial need and merit through community involvement and potential for success are welcome to apply.

  • Current students at University of Michigan, Central Michigan University, or Wayne State University
  • Seeking a professional certification, associate, or bachelor’s degree
  • U.S. citizen, permanent resident, conditional permanent resident, refugee, or asylum granted
  • Demonstrate financial need
  • Exhibit merit through community involvement and potential for success Preference will be given to students accepted to Wayne State University Department of Mortuary Science Program and to applicants who have received little to no other scholarships.
