Wichita Mountains Post SAME Scholarship provides financial assistance to high school seniors in designated areas of Oklahoma and Texas, including children of members of the Wichita Mountains Post of the Society of American Military Engineers (SAME), who are planning to study a field of science, technology, engineering, or mathematics (STEM) at a college in any state.

Requirements

This program is open to graduating high school seniors who plan to attend college in any state and major in a field of STEM. Applicants must either 1) live within a 50-mile radius of Altus (Oklahoma), Lawton (Oklahoma), or Wichita Falls (Texas); or 2) be a dependent of a member of the Wichita Mountains Post of SAME. Along with their application, they must submit a 500-word narrative of their future career plans.

Selection is based on that narrative, academics, hobbies and interests, community involvement, membership in extracurricular clubs or groups, and positions of leadership.
