Associated Oregon Loggers Non-Member Scholarship provides financial assistance to residents of Oregon who are planning to major in a forest resource production field of study at a school in any state.

Requirements
  • This program is open to residents of Oregon who are high school seniors or students currently attending a 4-year college or university in any state accredited by the Society of American Foresters.
  • Applicants must be planning to major in a forest resource production field of study, including forest management, forest engineering, or forest products.
  • They must submit high school transcripts, SAT or ACT scores, verification of college acceptance, and a 3page essay on a topic that changes annually but relates to forestry; recently, students were asked to give their ideas on the challenges they see in the field of logging and their views on meeting those challenges.
  • Selection is based on academic record; SAT or ACT scores; relevant experiences; legibility, neatness, and accuracy of information submitted; and thought process, grammatical usage, and expression in the required essay.
  • Financial need is not considered.
  • Finalists may be interviewed.
