Gioles Scholarship provides financial assistance to high school seniors and current undergraduates who are of the Greek Orthodox faith and are interested in studying journalism or other fields.

Requirements
  • This program is open to high school seniors and current undergraduates who are enrolled or planning to enroll full-time at an accredited college or university in the United States.
  • Applicants must be of the Greek Orthodox faith, preferably of Greek descent, and U.S. citizens or permanent residents.
  • They must have a GPA of 3.0 or higher and an SAT score of at least 1000 (or an equivalent score on the ACT).
  • Preference is given to applicants who are orphans; at least 1 scholarship is reserved for a student majoring in journalism).
  • Selection is based on an essay on an assigned topic related to their background as a Greek Orthodox, transcripts, letters of recommendation, honors and awards, special skills, extracurricular participation (especially in church activities), and financial need.
