The Illinois Veteran Grant is available to members of the Armed Services who served at least one year of federal active duty service. Members who have been honorably discharged or are still serving, and who are pursuing an associate or bachelor's degree from a public institution in Illinois are eligible to apply.

Requirements

Member of the U.S. Armed Forces and served at least one year of federal active duty service **or**

Member of the U.S. Armed Forces with service in a foreign country during a time of hostilities in that country and were honorably discharged

Have received an honorable discharge for each period of federal active duty service, and/or be honorably serving

Resident of Illinois

Seeking an associate or bachelor's degree

Attending a 24 year public college or university in Illinois

Not be a current member of the Reserve Officer Training Corps (ROTC)

Not be in default on any student loan, nor owe a refund on any state or federal grant
