The Karen Mashburn Environmental Scholars Program supports undergraduate and graduate students in South Florida and Treasure Coast regions. In addition to the scholarship, the recipient will participate in a 14 week internship with Friends of the Everglades. Students pursuing studies in environmental education and/or science are welcome to apply.

Requirements
  • Minimum 3.00 GPA
  • Resident of Broward, Indian River, Martin, MiamiDade, Monroe, Palm Beach, or St. Lucie counties, Florida
  • Undergraduate or graduate student
  • Seeking an associate, bachelor's, or graduate degree
  • Pursuing studies in environmental education and/or science
  • Attending school in the U.S.
  • U.S. citizen or permanent resident
  • Demonstrated commitment to environmental education and conservation through volunteering, advocacy, or projects
  • Demonstrate financial need
