Moose Youth Awareness Award recognizes and rewards, with college scholarships, high school students who deliver talks to children about current issues.

Requirements
  • This competition is open to U.S. and Canadian high school students who develop brief talks to deliver to groups of children 4 to 9 years of age whom they identify in their community.
  • The talks must deal with such current issues as drug and alcohol abuse, child abuse, "stranger danger," bullying and peer pressure, and healthy habits and nutrition.
  • Students must make at least 3 talks in their community and submit written reports on their presentations.
  • School officials select 2 participating students to attend a local student congress; selection is based on academic ability and leadership qualities.
  • At those congresses, participants present their talks to fellow students, and 60 of them are selected by their peers to attend the International Student Congress.
  • At that Congress, participating students vote to select the winners of the scholarships.
