Requirements

This program is open to undergraduate students in any field of study who are blind.

Applicants must submit verification of legal blindness in both eyes; SAT or ACT scores; information on extracurricular activities (including involvement in the American Council of the Blind); employment record; and a 500word autobiographical sketch that includes their personal goals, strengths, weaknesses, hobbies, honors, achievements, and reasons for the choice of field or courses of study.

A cumulative GPA of 3.3 or higher is generally required.

Financial need is not considered in the selection process.

Scholarship winners are expected to be present at the council's annual conference; the council will cover all reasonable expenses connected with convention attendance.
