Requirements

This program is open to residents of South Carolina who are U.S. citizens or permanent residents and high school seniors enrolled at a public, private, or home school.

Applicants must be interested in attending a designated college or university in the state to prepare for a career as a teacher.

Based on initial applications, semifinalists are invited to regional interviews, where they first write a 30minute response to an education-related question and then appear before an interview committee.

Final selection is based on communication, problemsolving ability, knowledge of the world and educational issues, originality, and commitment to teaching as demonstrated in those responses and interviews.
