Virginia Peninsula Post SAME Scholarship provides financial assistance to high school seniors, undergraduates, and graduate students entering or enrolled at universities in Virginia who have a tie to the Virginia Peninsula Post of the Society of American Military Engineers (SAME), demonstrate a commitment to future military service, and are majoring in engineering or architecture.

Requirements
  • This program is open to U.S. citizens who meet 1 of the following requirements: 1) high school seniors planning to enroll in an engineering, architecture, construction, facilities management, or environmental management/science program at an accredited college or university in Virginia; 2) students enrolled as freshmen through graduate students at an accredited college or university in Virginia and working on a bachelor's or master's degree in engineering, architecture, construction, facilities management, or environmental management/science; and 3) members and dependents of members of the SAME Virginia Peninsula Post working on a degree in engineering, architecture, construction, facilities management, or environmental management/science.
  • Applicants must have demonstrated commitment to future military service by enrolling in an ROTC program, a commissioning program, or an extended enlistment.
  • Selection is based on academic standing and accomplishments (50%), involvement in university and community programs, including those with military involvement (30%), and financial need (20%).
