Walter J. Clore Scholarship provides financial assistance to residents of any state who are interested in studying wine-related areas at a college in Washington.

Requirements
  • This program is open to residents of any state who are enrolled or planning to enroll full or part-time at a college or university in Washington.
  • Applicants must be interested in studying viticulture and/or enology, wine business management, winerelated hospitality, food science, or other wine-related disciplines.
  • They must have a GPA of 3.0 or higher.
  • Preference is given to undergraduates, although graduate students may apply.
  • All applicants must submit an 800word essay about themselves, including such topics as what sets them apart from others, why they have chosen their particular area of study, their future plans and career goals, their interests and experiences in the wine grape industry, their plans for improving or enhancing the wine and grape industry, why they should receive the scholarship.
  • Selection is based on academic merit, leadership abilities, and interest in the study of enology and/or viticulture; financial need is not required but may be considered in the selection process.
