American Planning Association California Chapter Northern Section Scholarship provides financial assistance to undergraduate and graduate students in planning programs at designated universities in northern California.

Requirements
  • This program is open to students entering their final year for an undergraduate or master's degree in 1) the accredited planning program at San Jose State University of the University of California at Berkeley; or 2) the planning-related program at the California State University campuses at Chico, Humboldt, San Francisco, or Sonoma or at Stanford University.
  • Applicants must submit 1) a 500word personal statement explaining why planning is important to them, their potential contribution to the profession of planning in California, and how this scholarship would help them to complete their degree; and 2) a 500-word essay on what they consider to be 1 of the greatest planning challenges in California today.
  • Selection is based on academic performance, commitment to serve the planning profession in California, and financial need.
