Fred R. McDaniel Memorial Scholarship provides financial assistance to licensed radio amateurs in designated states who are interested in working on an undergraduate or graduate degree, preferably in electronics or communications.

Requirements

This program is open to undergraduate or graduate students at accredited institutions who are radio amateurs with a general license or higher.

Applicants must submit an essay on the role amateur radio has played in their lives and provide documentation of financial need.

They must be residents of the FCC Fifth Call District (Arkansas, Louisiana, Mississippi, New Mexico, Oklahoma, and Texas), attending schools within those states, and working on a degree in electronics, communications, or related fields.

Preference is given to applicants who have a GPA of 3.0 or higher.
