Requirements

This program is open to residents of Hawaii who are enrolled or planning to enroll full-time at an accredited 2- or 4-year college, university, or vocational school in any state.

Applicants must have a GPA of 2.5 or higher.

Priority is given to members of the Hawaiian Civic Club of Honolulu and their families; membership in the club is limited to persons of Native Hawaiian descent (descendants of the aboriginal inhabitants of the Hawaiian Islands prior to 1778).

The club's founding objectives are to elevate the social status of Hawaiians, elevate the intellectual status of Hawaiians, and increase pride in race heritage and Hawaiian identity.

Selection is based on the quality of the essays, academic standing, financial need, and the completeness of the application package.
