H.C. Shipman Vocational Scholarship

About the Scholarship

H.C. Shipman Vocational Scholarship program supports students who are enrolled in a vocational program. Herbert C. Shipman headed the W.H. Shipman Ltd. Company from 1943 until 1976. Mr. Shipman was also a conservationist, working to save the nene from extinction. He was amongst the first to raise orchids on Hawaii Island and has a park named after him in Keaau. This scholarship fund was established by the H.C. Shipman Foundation in his memory for the purpose of supporting students from Keaau public high schools.
