The John and Abigail Adams Scholarship is available to students who score in the advanced category on the 10th grade Massachusetts Comprehensive Assessment System (MCAS) test. Students who are enrolled or are planning to enroll full-time in a Massachusetts institution are welcome to apply. Recipients of this scholarship have up to six years following high school graduation to utilize these funds.

Requirements

Seeking a professional certification, associate, or bachelor's degree

Attending or planning to attend an eligible public institution in Massachusetts as a fulltime student

U.S. citizen, U.S. national, or permanent resident

Not have received a prior bachelor’s degree or its equivalent

Score in the Advanced category on one of three high school state assessment tests in English Language Arts, Mathematics, or STE (Biology, Chemistry, Introductory Physics or Technology/Engineering)

Score in the Proficient or Advanced category on the remaining two high school state assessment tests

Have a combined MCAS score on these assessments that ranks in the top 25% in their school district

In compliance with applicable law regarding Selective Service Registration

Not be in default with applicable law regarding any federal or state student education loans for attendance at any institution or owe a refund for any previous financial aid received
