The LaSPACE HBCU Institutional Scholars Program provides financial assistance for study in aerospace-related fields of STEM to undergraduates at Historically Black Colleges and Universities (HBCUs) that are members or affiliates of the Louisiana Space Grant Consortium (LaSPACE). Participating universities are encouraged to select students who are members of underrepresented groups in STEM (Hispanic/Latinx, African American, American Indian, Alaska Natives, Pacific Islander, Native Hawaiian, people with disabilities, women).

Requirements
  • Student enrolled at an LaSPACE affiliated HBCU (Dillard University, Grambling State University, Southern University and A&M College, Southern University at New Orleans, and Xavier University of Louisiana).
  • Seeking a bachelor's degree as a fulltime student in a STEM discipline of relevance to the U.S. National Aeronautics and Space Administration (NASA).
  • Selected by the HBCU they attend.
  • U.S. citizen. Preference is given to students who are members of underrepresented groups in STEM (Hispanic/Latinx, African American, American Indian, Alaska Natives, Pacific Islander, Native Hawaiian, people with disabilities, women).
