Requirements

This program is open to students currently enrolled as juniors at public, private, and parochial high schools and home study programs in Minnesota.

Applicants must be planning to attend a college, university, or vocational school in any state following graduation from high school.

They must submit an essay, from 450 to 500 words, on a topic that changes annually but relates to the township form of government in Minnesota, its place and purpose in local government, and the involvement of citizens in grassroots government.

Financial need is not considered in the selection process.
