New York State Chapter SWANA Scholarship provides financial assistance to residents of New York, especially relatives of the New York State Chapter of the Solid Waste Association of North America (SWANA), who are interested in working on an undergraduate or graduate degree in a field related to solid waste management at a college in any state.

Requirements
  • This program is open to residents of New York attending college in any state; preference is given to relatives of members of the SWANA New York State Chapter.
  • Applicants must be 1) high school seniors who have been accepted at a 2 or 4-year college or university to major in any field; 2) students entering their sophomore year with a major focused on the management of solid waste; 3) students entering their junior or senior year and working on a degree in science, engineering, public policy, or other environmental fields, preferably related to solid waste management; or 4) graduate students working on a degree in science, engineering, public policy, or other environmental fields, preferably related to solid waste management.
  • Selection is based on the overall achievements of the applicants, not solely on academic performance.
