The William Giacomo "Firefighter" Scholarship recognizes active firefighters, or a spouse, child, or grandchild of an active firefighter on a department that is a member of and in good standing with Fayette County Firefighters Association. Applicants who have completed at least 1 year of college are eligible to apply. This scholarship may be used to attend any college or university in West Virginia unless pursuing a fire safety degree, in which case the scholarship may be used to attend any college or university.

Requirements

Active firefighter, or a spouse, child, or grandchild of an active firefighter on a department that is a member of and in good standing with Fayette County Firefighters Association

Minimum 2.75 GPA

Resident of West Virginia

Completed 1 year of college (minimum 24 credit hours)

Seeking an associate or bachelor's degree at a college or university in West Virginia as a fulltime student **or**

Pursuing a fire safety degree in fire safety at a school in any state
