Founded in 1832, Gettysburg College is a highly selective, nationally ranked, four-year residential college of the liberal arts and sciences. Gettysburg College is located in the world-famous town of Gettysburg, Pennsylvania with close proximity to Baltimore (60 min) and Washington, DC (80 min). Our 2,600 students come from nearly 40 states and close to 40 countries. We provide our students a transformative education that asks for engagement and offers challenge and opportunity in return. We offer 65+ academic programs in all areas of study. Our high-impact programming affords students the opportunity to apply their academic studies beyond the classroom and sharpen their worldview. Our students engage in interdisciplinary learning, advanced scholarship, and global leadership through one or more of our high impact offerings including our five distinctive programs (Center for Public Service, Civil War Institute, Eisenhower Institute, Garthwait Leadership Center, and Sunderman Conservatory of Music), semester-long study abroad opportunities through the Center for Global Education, faculty-mentored research through the Cross-Disciplinary Science Institute (X-Sig), and Experiential Education programs. Gettysburg College students find plenty of ways to get involved, find their niche, and take ownership of their co-curricular experience on campus within our 120+ student clubs and organizations and robust Division III athletics and campus recreation programs. Gettysburg students graduate with a love of learning, knowledge and skills they need for success and new insight into the world, their place in it, and their obligations to it. From our Center for Career Engagement to alumni mentorships offered through the Gettysburg Network, we have the resources to ensure all students are positioned to land great jobs and lead great lives after graduation. Within one year of graduation, 98% of our recent graduates are employed or in graduate school.
