What are the BigFuture Scholarships?
BigFutureScholarships are open to all Class of 2023 students who attend high school in the United States, Puerto Rico, other U.S. territories, and US citizens and residents attending Department of Defense Education Activity schools abroad. College Board wants as many students as possible to earn scholarships through BigFuture Scholarships. Therefore, students unable to submit the FAFSA, such as undocumented students, can still qualify for each scholarship step.
Can I sign up to be a BigFuture Ambassador on my own?
Some participants do activities to spread the word by themselves, and others join other students. Some students have even formed Ambassador Clubs and work with a school faculty member for help with scheduling, space or other needs. We provide resources and training to help you build awareness. It is up to you to decide who else to involve from your school.
Can any student sign up to be an Ambassador?
Ambassadors typically sign up in their junior or senior year. However, sign-up is open to any student in grades 9-12. Students under the age of 13 cannot sign up to become an Ambassador.
What kind of training and resources are available?
We convene Ambassadors from around the country for regular virtual training sessions to share outreach strategies, and BigFuture resources to help you build awareness. These are optional. Ambassadors who attend four or more training sessions will be recognized as Gold Leaf Ambassadors. Students who sign up to be an Ambassador also receive a monthly email with resources and strategies to build awareness about how to qualify for BigFuture Scholarships and use other BigFuture resources.
