The Better Business Bureau Ethical Torch Essay Scholarship recognizes and rewards, with scholarships for college in any state, high school students in southern California and greater Arizona who submit an essay on marketplace ethics.

Requirements
  • This competition is open to high school students in grades 9 through 12 at high schools in southern California (San Diego, Orange, or Imperial counties and greater Arizona (Apache, Coconino, Gila, La Paz, Maricopa, Mohave, Navajo, Pinal, Yavapai, or Yuma counties).
  • Applicants must submit an essay, up to 400 words in length, on the importance of ethics and integrity in their community.
  • They should discuss their viewpoints and give examples.
  • Selection is based on readability and clarity (5 points), relevance to the theme (5 points), inclusion of personal viewpoints and/or examples (5 points), and spelling and grammar (5 points).
