Requirements
  • This program is open to community youth in north San Diego County, California, with an emphasis given to individuals applying to California public universities, state colleges, community colleges, or vocational schools.
  • Applicants must be preparing for a career as a professional, paraprofessional, or technical worker in health care (e.g., dietician, certified nursing assistant, radiology, technologist, phlebotomist, nurse, physical therapy assistant).
  • They must have a GPA of 2.5 or higher and be able to demonstrate financial need.
  • Selection is based on financial need (40%), academic standing and/or the potential for success (30%), school and community involvement and work experience (10%), the essay (10%), and recommendations (10%).
