DNA 16 Eleanor Bent Memorial Scholarship provides financial assistance to male undergraduate and graduate nursing students in Colorado, especially those from the greater Denver metropolitan area.

Requirements
  • This program is open to male Colorado residents who have been accepted as a student in an approved nursing program in the state.
  • Preference is given to residents of District Nurses Association (DNA) 16, which serves Denver, Arapahoe, and parts of Adams and Douglas counties.
  • Applicants may be 1) secondyear students in an associate degree program; 2) junior or senior level B.S.N. undergraduate students; 3) R.N.s enrolled in a baccalaureate or higher degree program in a school of nursing; 4) R.N.s with a master's degree in nursing, currently practicing in Colorado and enrolled in a doctoral program; or 5) students in the second or third year of a Doctorate Nursing Practice (D.N.P.) or Ph.D. program.
  • Undergraduates must have a GPA of 3.25 or higher and graduate students must have a GPA of 3.5 or higher.
  • Selection is based on professional philosophy and goals, dedication to the improvement of patient care in Colorado, demonstrated commitment to nursing, the potential for leadership, involvement in community and professional organizations, recommendations, GPA, and financial need.
