Requirements
  • This program is open to students at designated 4-year universities in northern California who are entering their junior or senior year for the undergraduate award or their first or second year of graduate school for the graduate award.
  • Applicants must have a GPA of 2.5 or higher.
  • Undergraduates must have a declared major in geology or a related earth science discipline.
  • Graduate students must be working on a master's degree with an environmental or engineering geology emphasis, such as hydrogeology, environmental geology, engineering geology, or a related earth science discipline.
  • Selection is based on academic performance (20%), letters of recommendation (25%), extracurricular activities (20%), and a 2page essay on their educational and professional goals in the geosciences (35%).
