The HBCU-Sustainable Communities Initiative provides scholarships to Black or African American students who are currently attending a UNCF member institution in Alabama, Georgia, Illinois, Mississippi, Tennessee, or Virginia as college juniors. Students who wish to pursue a degree in business, STEM, or sustainability-related disciplines are encouraged to apply. Special consideration is given to students majoring in agriculture, architecture, applied sciences, business administration, city/community/urban planning, engineering, environmental and conservation sciences, information technology, sustainability studies, and technology.

  • Minimum 2.80 GPA
  • Resident of the U.S.
  • Attending a UNCF member institution in Alabama, Georgia, Illinois, Mississippi, Tennessee, or Virginia

  • Studying in a business, STEM, or sustainabilityrelated disciplines
  • Fulltime student
  • U.S. citizen
  • African American or Black Preference is given to students majoring in agriculture, architecture, applied sciences, business administration, city/community/urban planning, engineering, environmental and conservation sciences, information technology, sustainability studies, and technology.
