Japan Exchange and Teaching Program Alumni Association of Northern California Scholarship provides financial assistance to high school seniors in northern California and Nevada who have demonstrated an interest in Japan and plan to attend college in any state.

Requirements
  • This program is open to seniors graduating from high schools in northern California (defined as the counties of Monterey, Kings, Tulane, Inyo, and all counties north of those) and Nevada.
  • Applicants must be able to demonstrate a sincere interest in Japan, as demonstrated by at least 1 year of directed interest.
  • They must be planning to enroll fulltime at an accredited 2- or 4-year college of university in any state.
  • Selection is based on demonstrated interest in Japan, academic accomplishments and interests, recommendations, responses to questions, and general impressions from the application; a demonstrated financial need may also be considered.
