Mississippi Young Farmers and Ranchers Scholarship provides financial assistance to members of the Mississippi Farm Bureau who are majoring in agriculture at a college or university in Mississippi.

Requirements
  • This program is open to members of the Farm Bureau (and members of Farm Bureau families) who are entering or have already completed their freshman year in an agriculture major at a university or community college in Mississippi.
  • Applicants must submit 1) a 500word essay on how can farmers, as good stewards of the land and natural resources, best address sustainability in a rapidly changing world; and 2) a 250-word essay on why they need a scholarship.
  • Selection is based on essays (20%), academic performance (20%), school and community activities (20%), leadership qualities (20%), and financial needs (20%).
